This real couple thought they just signed up for a pretty photo shoot – well, so the now bride-to-be thought! Little did she know, this stunning garden backdrop set with a sweetheart table for two would become the setting of her engagement! Along with Hannah Mulligan, who photographed the whole thing, Cassie’s fiance plotted the perfect surprise garden proposal. While they began just playing bride and groom for fun, it all became very real after Dylan popped the question! Read More
Alex may not be a born and raised Southerner, but if she isn’t a Southern belle at heart, then I don’t know who is! As she and Andrew planned their Louisiana wedding, their minds were never far from their goal of making their guests feel cared for and part of the celebration.
I could get lost in the brilliance of this wedding for hours. It has everything – a century-old horse farm, the Southern autumn, and Alyssa Arlene Events – all working in its favor. Even down to the bride’s daisy trimmed hairpiece from Root Floral Design, every detail is totally swoon-worthy. And there’s even a whole gallery of Erin and Geoffrey Photography’s photos for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
The beautiful details that Kelly and James put together for their wedding reflect this couple’s love of nature and vintage charm. From Kelly’s romantic ivory lace gown and brooch fastened to her woodland bouquet to their simple and sweet outdoor ceremony, I love everything about this Louisiana celebration. But what I love even more is what Kelly has to say about it below.
Of all the wedding ideas we’ve seen over the years, this one might be the sweetest. As soon as the members Bret and Haley’s bridal party made their way to the altar, they each picked up an instrument and joined together to play Haley down the aisle to meet her groom. Sarah Beth Photography beautifully captured the sweet emotion of the day, and the lush flowers from Root Floral Design.
I’m a sucker for all things southern-inspired, and this shoot from Catherine Guidry and Alyssa Arlene Events hits the nail on the head. Put together in sweet Louisiana, this session mixes lush floral arrangements from Root Floral Design with a drool-worthy dessert bar from Indulge for a special treat to brighten our day.
Mia Sandberg is the owner / florist at Root Floral Design. She is on a mission to show the beauty of flowers in a modern way. Her work is stunning, contemporary and always has a unique twist. (Yes, I’m a fan.) Mia uses her work, and her personality to spread happiness, she just can’t seem to help herself. I predict huge success for this business owner – she has the talent, the drive, and the vision.
There’s no reason you shouldn’t use Valentine’s Day as the holiday to celebrate your wedding anniversary with a few friends. This couple did. It’s the best reason to bring out that fancy dress you’ve been dying to wear and pucker your lips with some very red lipstick.
I just received news that WE are being featured on the COVER of the Independent’s Spring 2013 Issue of Acadiana Brides!!!! What. An. Honor! To say that I am stoked would be an understatement. In moments like this, I just want to jump and high five a few people. On a serious note, we really are ALL so honored and excited.
I wonder if Jessica + Michael knew that day their paths would change forever. Because that day at the UL Tailgate, they met. It was the time at the university when you could just roll up, drop a tent and hang out for the day (the “good ole days” as they described it).
Connection, Trust, Experience, and Professionalism…these are just a few of the important aspects of a good vendor. I always encourage couples to ask around and do their research before settling on a vendor. Mia + Jessica spent time developing a relationship, getting to know each other and as a result…..this pure joy occurred when Jessica saw the results.
Mia and I met in my 1st year of architecture school in the Fall of 2004 and hit it off instantly. We were like two peas in a pod trying to fight our way through design school. Now, 2 years later, I am continuing to pursue my passion for wedding photography, and Mia has found her calling in life as well….as a florist. The name of Mia’s business is Root Floral Design. Services include special occasions & weddings/events! <—So, brides if you’re looking for a florist that is DIFFERENT, artistic, and makes good use of color combinations and textures, Root Floral Design it is!
